The JJD Sports Kansas High School Exposure Camp is back for the summer of 2007!!  Last summer in only our second year the camp more than doubled in size, and we're looking to follow it up with an even better camp this year.  We will once again have college coaches from all across the state, including Division II, Junior College, and NAIA coaches working the camp.  They are not there just to evaluate the players, but will actually be working the camp at their specific positions to teach everything they can to the athletes.  We plan to have a special guest speaker at lunch everyday, as well as some plans for new features so stay attuned to the website for any new developments.

The first two years of this camp have seen a number of great players who will end up playing college ball somewhere, and we hope to take that number even higher for 2007.  Please follow the links below to find out all about the camp, and signup by May 1st to take advantage of our "Early Bird" discount!!  You can also read below to see what took place at least year's camp, as well as watch the video of the newscast that KAKE TV ran on the camp last summer!

This exciting camp is for high school players and college coaches in the state of Kansas.  We're working very hard to pair up the high school players in Kansas with the college coaches in the state, and there will be numerous coaches from various schools on hand to work with players who are interested in playing college football.  The camp is open to all incoming 9th-12th graders as well as any graduates who have not yet signed with a school.  And remember, it's never to early to start preparing for next season.  There is a spot for everyone so use this as a great opportunity to get on the radar of your favorite college, or to prepare yourself for the upcoming high school football season.  Take advantage of all these college coaches coming to you!!

At camp, each player will work on speed, agility and quickness, as well as skills challenges and 7 on 7 games.  The first day there will also be a combine where we test the athletes in their 40 time, vertical leap, pro agility, 3-cone, bench, and an evaluation in their offensive and defensive position by a college coach.  Each player will get to choose an offensive and defensive position to work on each day, and will have plenty of time to get some valuable work with their position coaches.  The camp is going to run June 2nd-3rd, and we are working very hard to put together a great staff for you.

Combine

Our first day of camp is going to feature a combine for the athletes to participate in that will give us a chance to evaluate each player's "recruiting numbers."  We all know that a 4.4 40 yard dash time, or a 35 inch vertical leap does not mean a player will be a superstar, or by not having those numbers does not mean an athlete cannot be a great football player, but college coaches do look at it as a way to evaluate a player.  We will have our college coaches instructing and timing all of our combine tests so you will be sure to get the most accurate times and measurements possible.

In addition to the actual field work that each player will get to participate in with their position coach, we will also conduct our own combine at camp to measure each athlete's core speed, strength and agility skills.  These results will be posted on our website, as well as made available to all the college coaches in attendance.  The basic combine tests are as follows, but we also plan to add others as the program is fully developed.

 Height / Weight / 40 yard dash / 20 yard dash / 10 yard dash

Vertical Leap / Pro Agility / Bench Press Reps / 3-Cone Drill

2007 Camp Staff

JONATHAN BEASLEY

We are again welcoming back Jonathan Beasley for his second year with JJD Sports.

The quarterbacks from last year took advantage of the opportunity to work with this former

Kansas State University starting quarterback and now you have the chance to as well!!  With Jonathan's

first hand knowledge of what it takes to be successful as a dominating QB he will be able to help

fine tune your technique, help you read the secondary, and teach you drills you never seen before!!

Take the skills you learn from Jonathan and pick apart the opposing offenses next season!

NICK MCBROOM

The only coach to have worked every camp, Nick brings his experience from coaching at one of the

junior college powerhouses in Kansas, Coffeyville.  Coach McBroom will be working with the linebackers

at the camp teaching them how to read better as well as taking the proper steps to deliver a blow.  This past

season at Coffeyville Nick had two notable LB's transfer to D1 schools, Larry Asante (Nebraska) and Wyman

Alexander (Washington State).  Take advantage of this time to work 1-on-1 with Coach McBroom and who

knows maybe you could be the next one going to a D1 school.

TIM SCHAFFNER

Joining us for the first year to work with the defensive backs at the exposure camp, Coach Schaffner will take this

opportunity to evaluate all the athletes in attendance to see if they have what it takes to make it at the junior college

level.  Leading the Grizzly defense to a top ranking in the Jayhawk conference, Coach Schaffner also helped

Kensington, KS native Austin Panter receive NJCAA National Player of the Year honor, a first ever for a defensive

player from Butler.  Take advantage of this opportunity to be instructed and evaluated by Coach Schaffner and maybe

you can be the next athlete to receive this honor as well.

A.J. BLAZEK

Rejoining the JJD Sports Camp staff, Coach Blazek will coach up the offensive line.  With his experience as a player at

the University of Iowa and in the AFL with the Chicago Rush, Coach Blazek knows what it takes to be successful on and

off the field.  Using this knowledge to work with guys at Iowa as a graduate assistant and now as the offensive line coach at

Ft. Hays State, Coach Blazek has not only helped to prepare many athletes for the next level but also taught them how to play

at their full potential.  JJD Sports is once again excited to have Coach Blazek help out with this years camp so take full advantage of

this opportunity to work with a great coach and maybe you can be his next protégé.

CULLEN HOMOLKA

Coach Homolka will join this years JJD Sports Camp staff for the first time and using his experience as a player and coach he will

work with the WR's.  Bringing his knowledge of the game from Garden City junior college and KU he will give a first hand in sight

on what it takes to be successful on the field.  With a year under his belt coaching at Washburn, Coach Homolka will give you the

tools needed to impress the college coaches next year on the field and maybe you will join him again after your senior year!!

OSCAR RODRIQUEZ

Also coming from Washburn University, Coach Rodriquez is going to work with the DB's and in particular the corners.  Take

advantage of this opportunity to work with Coach Rodriquez one on one to fine tune your skills so you can shut down any

receiver next year.  Also bringing his knowledge of the game from playing at the high school powerhouse Liberal, Coach Rodriquez

then went on to play at Coffeyville junior college and then finishing his college career at Ft. Hays State.  Also with a year under

his belt at Washburn, Coach Rodriquez knows what it takes to make it at the college level in Kansas.  Don't miss out on this great

opportunity to work with Coach Rodriquez and get exposed!!

Bob Majeski

Joining us for the first time this year, Coach Majeski will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Exposure Camp not

only to help the athletes get better but also see if he can add anyone to the defensive side of the ball at Coffeyville Junior College

in the years to come.  Coach Majeski will work with the defensive line at the camp this year and being the Coffeyville

Defensive Coordinator he will bring first hand knowledge of what it takes to be successful at the next level.  Don't miss out on this

opportunity to work with Coach Majeski and learn some skills to take with you for next year!!

COLISEUM SPORTS PERFORMANCE

Coliseum Sports Performance, owned and operated by former KSU and KC Chiefs football player J.J Smith, will handle

the speed development series and warm-ups for this years camp.  Taking the expertise of Coach Smith and applying it to

the speed series, the athletes will take away valuable techniques that can help them perform at their maximum ability.  Coliseum

Sports Performance will also properly warm the athletes up before they compete to ensure their bodies are ready to give it everything

they can to show the coaches in attendance what they can do.  Establishing themselves in the Kansas City area we are very

fortunate to have Coliseum Sports Performance work this years Exposure Camp, don't miss out on this great opportunity!

For a small extra fee housing can be arranged on the campus of Bethel College to accommodate players coming in from across the state.

Media Day

This is an event we continue to try to work into our camp schedule that gives the local media a chance to see the next crop of great Kansas high school football players, and possibly the next college star!  We work hard to get media outlets such as TV stations, radio stations, newspapers, magazines and websites on hand to take footage and interview the athletes at camp.  There will be a designated times where the athletes will be available for the media to talk to.  If an athlete is not comfortable doing an interview, or does not want to participate it is not required.  This event is designed after the media day that many colleges put on for their new team each year to introduce them to the public.  It will be a great opportunity for the young athletes to work on public communication, as well as receive exposure for themselves and their high school team!

If you are media outlet that wishes to attend our Kansas High School Exposure Camp Media Day, please send an e-mail to: jasonkazar@jjdsports.com to reserve your spot.  You can also make interview requests for specific athletes thru this method as well.

2006 Exposure Camp Wrap-Up

The 2nd Annual JJD Sports Kansas High School Exposure Camp took place in Wichita, KS, June 10th-11th and turned out to be a great weekend!  The camp more than doubled in size from the first year as young football players from across the state came to Cessna Stadium to perform for college coaches from KU, KSU, Emporia State, Washburn, Pitt State, Butler, Coffeyville and numerous other coaches across the state.  The athletes went thru an NFL style combine on the first morning of camp, testing their 40 time, vertical leap, short shuttle, 3-cone drill and bench press.  The results from this combine have been made available to all college coaches who participated in camp at their request.  Once the Combine concluded, athletes then went thru a special Speed Development session with the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at KU, Chris Dawson.

The rest of camp included all players going thru drills with their position coaches, and learning new techniques to help them in their upcoming season.  Many of the coaches also used this time to evaluate the athletes in their group to determine if college football could be in their future.  There appeared to be several prospects in the group, and some of the younger 9th & 10th graders got a head start on their peers by attending this camp to meet and learn from these college coaches at an early age.
