"Just wanted you and the players to know how much my son
enjoyed the Nick Collison Basketball Camp.  I went yesterday afternoon for the awards, games and pictures.  I was very impressed with the players spending time giving all the autographs and taking pictures with each kid that wanted one. I just would like them to know how much that means to the kids and to their parents.  My son won't be coming down to earth anytime soon!!

JJD Basketball Camps

*No Basketball Camps planned for 2007*

2004  marked our exciting splash into the basketball camp arena by running the first ever Nick Collison Basketball Camp in Valley Center, KS.  In 2005, we came back with another former University of Kansas superstar, Aaron Miles!!  Nick was then back for our camp in 2006, and we hope to have him back again in the future.  We have decided to take a break from basketball camps for the 2007 summer to redesign our game plan, focus on football this year and hopefully be back in 2008 better than ever!  Please be sure to continue to stay in touch w/ us, and continue checking our website to see when we jump back in the basketball world!!

GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION

Our camps focus on providing the best possible learning environment for our young student-athletes, while also promoting healthy competition and having fun each day.  There are plenty of opportunities for the athletes to get autographs and pictures from our special guests, but the main objective of our camp is to teach fundamentals and new skills to improve each player's game.  Our camper to instructor ratio is never more than 10:1, but is usually even closer to 6:1.  Keeping this ratio low gives each athlete the needed individual attention he/she deserves, and allows our top-notch instructors a chance to learn more about each player.  Each athlete always receives a camper handbook that is filled with training tips, motivational slogans, and an evaluation that is filled out personally by their designated team instructor.

Each day is filled with individual drills, team drills, and individual workout showcases by our special guest players and coaches.  This gives our campers the unique opportunity to see what current NBA players and/or college players do to prepare themselves for their upcoming season; or what they've done in the past to help them get where they are now.  Watching these workouts are invaluable to young athletes in helping them use imagination to learn what they can do on their own to make themselves a better player.  Most of our basketball camps are generally open to both boys and girls entering 3rd grade through 12th grade.  They are split into groups based on age and ability, and whenever possible depending on numbers we also have the boys and girls in different gyms to optimize everyone's camp experience.

Please keep checking the website to see what our 2005 schedule will look like, take a look at our camp pictures, or read the testimonials from past campers to see what they had to say about camp.  Also, be sure to keep an eye open for our upcoming high school Elite basketball camps, and always feel free to send us an e-mail with your comments or questions.  We hope to see you at a camp next summer!
